Obituary for David S. Solverson

David S.  Solverson

David S. Solverson, 94, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2022, with his wife by his side at his home in Manchaca, Texas. David was born on May 17, 1928, in La Crosse Wisconsin to Nelia and Stanley Solverson. He joined the Air Force in 1947 and spent 20 plus years in many different locations. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked for AT&T for 23 years. David was a member of the Onion Creek Masonic Lodge #220 and the Ben Hur Shrine Temple for close to 50 years.

He met his wife Barbara in 1955 in Rome, New York while he was stationed at Griffiss Air Force Base. They were married in September 1956 and then went to Okinawa in 1957 where they had three children.

David is survived by his wife Barbara and sister Liz Bingham of York, PA, children Kathy Solverson, Karen Miller and husband Jimmy and Keith Solverson. He is also survived by four grandsons, Lonnie, Scott and Curtis Miller and Christopher Parker, five great granddaughters, two great grandsons and many nieces and nephews. They had a very happy marriage for 66 years and David will be missed very much by his family.

Visitation will be held at the Harrell Funeral Home on Frontier Trail in Austin on Friday, November 4, 2022, from 5 pm to 7 pm followed by a Masonic Funeral Service at 7 pm. A graveside service will be held on November 9, 2022, at 2 pm at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas.
