Brother Thomas Frey, CSC

Brother Thomas Frey, 91, a member of the Congregation of Holy Cross, passed away August 10, 2022 at the Brother Vincent Pieau Residence, Austin, TX. He was born and raised in Cincinnati, OH. After high school he joined the Brothers of Holy Cross. He was received as a novice at Rolling Prairie, IN and made his first profession of vows there in February, 1950. Brother Thomas graduated from St. Edward's University in 1963 and began a teaching career of over 50 years, mostly at Holy Cross high schools in California: St. Anthony of Long Beach, St. Francis of Mountain View, Moreau Catholic of Hayward, and Notre Dame of Sherman Oaks.

Wherever he taught, his humility, kindness and closeness to God attracted to him students, parents and co-workers who counted on his prayers. He constantly promoted St. Joseph and St. Brother Andre Bessette as intercessors before God for our needs. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at the Brother Vincent Pieau Residence, 921 St Edwards Drive, Austin, TX 78704. Interment will be at Assumption Cemetery, Austin, Texas
