Ricardo
Alvarado
It is with great sadness that me and my family announce that Richard Alvarado has passed. Richard Alvarado, 67, of East Austin TX passed away in ICU on March 8, 2022. Sadly we lost him due to injuries from the hit and run that occurred February 27, 2022 in East Austin. After a week and a half of battling to survive, he was called home to be with our heavenly father. As a very young man, he worked really hard to help support his large family. He worked as a masonry for most of his life. He loved hard work and was good at it. In 2008, he was faced with one of the hardest challenges of his life, cancer. He fought hard for several years and survived although was unable to live life as he once did that cancer did not stop him. He enjoyed cutting grass for his family and neighbors. He loved his Spanish AM radio, fishing, and old western films (for example: Gun Smoke), but most of all he had a passion for football, particularly the Dallas Cowboys. He was and always will be the biggest DALLAS COWBOY fan around! He was such a good hearted and well-known man to many. He would give you the shirt off his back to whoever needed it and would do anything he could to help someone's situation. He always made us laugh and was a good father and grandfather. He will be sadly missed. He is now reunited with his parents, Faustino Alvarado and Apolonia Mendieta Alvarado, and his siblings Raymond Alvarado, Pete Alvarado, Elida Alvarado - Young, Domingo Alvarado, Ramona A. Zamora, Andres Alvarado, Simona Alvarado, and Daniel Alvarado. Our father is survived by daughters Erica Alvarado and Yolanda Posada and son in laws who he really adored Jerry Mendez and Jose Posada and their children- his 7 grandchildren. Jerimiah Alvarado, Jazlynn Alvarado, Jerianna Alvarado, Judas Alvarado, Ashlynn Garza, Yalesia Garza, and Jerelene Posada; And sisters Beatrice Flores, Anna and Jesse Hernandez, Maria Rodriguez, Tomasa and Sam Verver ; and many nieces and nephews as well as other loving family members, and many friends old and new.
