Obituary for Phillip Mark Elley

On August 31, 2022, Phillip Mark Elley ended his earthly pilgrimage. He was 47 years old. Phillip was born on October 15, 1974, in New Braunfels, TX. He was raised in Waco and spent his later childhood in Austin. Phillip graduated from Bowie High School in Austin, then moved to Seguin shortly after. It was there that he started both of his lengthy careers at the age of 18. Phillip loyally worked for Sherwin Williams for 29 years. In addition, he started his 10+ year career at Lake Breeze Ski Lodge, where he was lovingly nicknamed Flop. He was known as a hard worker, great leader, and boss.

Phillip had a love for sports and people. He was a lifelong Baylor Bears and Chicago Cubs fan. He loved playing golf, traveling, seeing live music, crawfish boils, and Mexican martinis. His favorite place to visit was New Orleans. Phillip was always generous and did whatever he could to put others' needs ahead of his own.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Christopher Elley, and his grandparents, Delorose and Clinton Elley, Sr., and Clara and Kenneth Linebarger.

Phillip is survived by his mother Rita Cuadros and husband Daniel, father Clinton Elley, Jr. and wife Maggie, brother Eric Elley and wife Andrea, nephew Camrin Elley, sister Sandra Cuadros, Godparents David and Carolyn Sheffield, Godson Hayden Elley, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at Harrell Funeral Home, 4435 Frontier Trail, Austin, TX, 78745. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association.
