Pete G. Castro, 72 of Austin was called Home by Our Heavenly Father on October 24, 2022.

Pete was born on March 22, 1950, in Austin, TX to Emilia Garcia and Pedro Castro Sr.

Pete graduated from Albert Sidney Johnston High School in 1970. He enjoyed his love for music, playing various instruments such as bass guitar, musical keyboard, and accordion. He was in various Conjunto bands throughout most of his adult life. He was a Jack of all Trades and could fix just about anything. He enjoyed sharing memories about growing up with his cousins and working the fields as a migrant worker with his family as a child.

Pete is preceded in death by his parents Pedro & Emilia Castro; Sisters Mary Alice Tello & Ofelia Castro; Brother Lupe Castro; grandson Cesar Martinez.

He is survived by his children Daniel Castro (Katie); Valerie Castro Pender; Cynthia Rivera (Luciano); Pedro Rivera (Angie); Juan Pablo Castro (Nicole); Brothers Gonzalo Castro Sr; Daniel Castro (Felipa); Joe Castro; Sister Virginia Navarro; 12 grandchildren including one expected in May and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Harrell Funeral Home 4435 Frontier Trail, Austin, TX 78745 on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. A rosary will be at 7 p.m. after visitation. Funeral Mass will be held at Dolores Catholic Church 1111 Montopolis Dr. Austin, TX 78741 on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S Interstate 35, Austin, TX 78704.
