Obituary for Perry Heron Silguero

Perry HerĂ³n Silguero, of Austin, TX passed away peacefully on January 31, 2023, at Hospice Austin's Christopher House. Perry was born on August 13, 1952, in Corpus Christi, TX, the eldest son of Gregory and Emelina (Vela) Silguero.

Perry spent his formative years in Houston, TX, and graduated from Sharpstown High School in 1972. On July 14, 1973, he was married to JoEllyn M. Luciano. The couple spent several years in Houston and the Rio Grande Valley before moving to Austin permanently.

Perry loved classic automobiles and spent a number of years in the automotive repair field with his father, Greg. Also, a talented bicycle mechanic, he owned and operated Centex Bikes out of Austin, TX, specializing in classic bicycle sales, service, and construction. He also enjoyed fishing and did so whenever and wherever he could. Whether it was being a family man, fishing, or working, he could be found listening to the hits of the 50's and 60's.

He is survived by his wife, JoEllyn; one son and daughter-in-law, Joel A. and Cynthia Silguero; two grandsons, Miles Perry and Nicolas Carlos Silguero; and two sisters, Corrine S. Silguero and Georgina L. Galvagni, both of Dallas.

Memorial service will be held at Hope Lutheran Church, 6414 N. Hampton Dr., Austin, TX 78723, on February 18, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. A celebration of Perry's life will follow at Pappasito's Cantina, 6513 N. Interstate Hwy 35, Austin, TX, 78752.
