Peggy Jane Horton, 66, of Llano, passed away February 3, 2023. She was born August 9, 1956 in San Saba, Texas to Alfred and Rutha Smith. She is survived by her sister, Patsy Dawson of Pflugerville, daughter Kristie Peel of Arizona, son Ronnie Horton (Stephanie), son Kevin Horton (Crystal) of Llano, eight grandchildren, one great grandchild, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Jim, John and Richard Smith, and sister Ann Turner.

Peggy enjoyed outdoor events, BBQ cook-offs with her sons and friends, riding motorcycles, playing darts and shuffleboard, and going dancing with friends. She worked at the nursing home, hospital, medical clinic, florist, and post office. Numerous friends were made through the years and a lot of fun was had. She will be greatly missed, but in our hearts we know she's with a special friend and family in heaven. Thank you to the medical teams and hospice, and to the friends that stayed close to her through her illness.

Service will be held at Harrell Funeral Home in Llano, February 9, 2023. Visitation will be 11:00 to 1:00 with service following. Graveside will be at Harmony Ridge Cemetery, San Saba County.

Pallbearers will be Rick Frank, Gary Smith, Kaden Horton, Mason Horton, Bart Freeman, and Ronnie Blanton. Honorary pallbearers will be Bruce Anderson and Gordon Phillips.
