Patricia "Pat" DuVarney Currie, of Austin, Texas, passed away at home on Monday, December 19, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.

Pat was born on July 31, 1950 in Fitchburg, MA to Marcus and Marion Baker DuVarney. After high school, she attended SUNY Sullivan where she obtained a degree in Education. Pat moved to Austin with her family in 1984 where she impacted countless lives while teaching Special Education in Eanes ISD and preschool at Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church. Her servant's heart led her to help the less fortunate, such as adopting a family for the holidays or providing care bundles to the homeless. She loved to travel, birdwatch, and could always be found working on a craft project. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Pat is preceded in death by her parents, husband Philip, sister Yvonne Zimmer, and brother-in-law James Rogers. She is survived by her children, Jonathan (Ruth) Currie of Austin, Shawna Currie of Victoria; grandchildren, Trey and Katelyn; sisters and brothers, Marion (Robert) Becker of Elmira, NY, Sharon (Alan) Joiner of Troy, PA, Marcus DuVarney Jr of Madison, WI, Andrea Rogers of Surfside Beach, SC, Susan Montelli of Georgetown, DE, Steven DuVarney of Owego, NY, Robert (Jamie) DuVarney of Catawba, SC, and Michael DuVarney Sr of Owego, NY; along with numerous loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be from 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Harrell Funeral Home, 4435 Frontier Trail, Austin, TX 78745. Graveside service will be 1:00PM on Friday, December 30, 2022 at Forest Oaks Memorial Park.
