Obituary for Ortensia "Maggie" Grzejszczak

Ortensia Maggie Grzejszczak was born on September 6, 1954, in Alligator, MS, and passed away on January 31, 2023, at the age of 68 years old. Ortensia was the daughter of Esther Trevino and Joe Trevino. Her father started as a migrant worker who became a grounds keeper at the local airport. Her mother was a manager at a local restaurant. Ortensia was predeceased by father, Joe Trevino; mother, Esther Trevino; husband, Robert Grzejszczak; sister, Mary Wills and brother, Mike Trevino. She is survived by her brother John Trevino (Mary Lou); her 3 children Joe Encinas (Maria), Monica Brink (Tim), Gilbert Encinas (Christine) and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Ortensia went to high school at Strohman in Victoria, TX and graduated in 1974. She went on to take classes at University of Houston - Victoria. She worked as a Tag & Title Clerk in Maryland and Texas for over 20 years. She was married to Robert Grzejszczak. They spent 36 wonderful years together, raising 3 children, 9 grandchildren (Jonathan, Joseph, Kiah, Andrew, Tori, Sierra, Richard, Devin and Serenity) and 7 great grandchildren. She enjoyed crafting and reading. She learned to crochet, latch hook, paint and sew but most of all she enjoyed volunteering at St Anthony de Claret with the Ladies Altar Society and Las Guadalupanas. She will be remembered as a giving and loving woman. Her family was first in all matters, but she gave of herself freely to as many needed her.

Visitation will be held at Harrell Funeral Home of Kyle on Thursday, 2nd of February 2023 at 6:00 PM. Funeral/Memorial service will be held at Harrell Funeral Home of Kyle on February 2, 2023, at 7:00 PM with Saint Anthony Altar Society officiating.

A Memorial Mass will follow at Saint Anthony Marie de Claret Catholic Church, 801 Burleson St., Kyle, TX on Monday, February 6th, 2023, at 10:00 am with a reception following at 11:00 am at the Parish Hall. Maggie will be interred with her husband Robert Grzejszczak at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX, at a date and time to be announced.

Harrell Funeral Home of Kyle will be handling the funeral arrangements.
