Obituary for Nicholas Taylor Mangum

Nicholas Taylor Mangum, a loving father, husband, brother, son, and friend passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on December 3, 2022.

Nick was born on November 19, 1984, in Pasadena, Texas. He later moved to Hungerford, Texas where he found his love for the outdoors, animals, and baseball, one of his greatest passions. After attending Texas State University, he called Austin, Texas home for most of his adult life. Nick always had a love for music which led him to meet his wife, Alexandra, at a music festival where they were camping next to one another. Their love story started across international borders. They married on July 7, 2017, and celebrated five beautiful years of marriage together. In 2019 they welcomed daughter Olivia Grace Mangum. Above all else, Nick loved his family and was a devoted husband and dad.

When people describe Nick, they use the words positive, inspirational, kind, and funny. Professionally, he was an encouraging leader who inspired many and always saw the best in people, even when they didn't see it themselves. His goofy smile could light up a room and his zest for life was contagious. His best days were spent watching the Astros, playing with Olivia, hanging out in the backyard, or spending time with friends and family.

Nick is survived by his wife, Alexandra, and daughter, Olivia; his parents: Lane Mangum and Jackie Mangum; his siblings: sister, Taylor Mangum-Camperchioli, and brother-in-law Ryan Camperchioli, and brother, Austin Mangum. His grandparents: Tom and Patricia Knapp, Barbara Fucik, and Walter Joe Mangum.
