Martin B Maldonado 63 also known as Marty, of Austin, Texas a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and uncle passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on October 27, 2022. He was born March 9, 1959 in Austin Texas to Joe and Virginia Maldonado.
Marty was an easy going, hardworking, family man that enjoyed fishing any chance he could get. He loved to ride his Harley Davidson throughout central Texas with the friends he called his "bros". He was introduce to the craft of jewelry making while in high school, and used those skills to make and sale jewelry later in life. Marty grew up in East Austin where he made many lifelong friends that he considers as family. As a young man he learned the carpentry trade from his father Joe "Monday" Maldonado and later learn the plumbing trade from his father in law Lupe Salgado. He was thankful for the skills these two men agave him because they allowed him to support his family. He will be miss and remembered for many things including his sense of humor, generosity, and free spirit.
Marty was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Virginia Maldonado; and his brothers Tony B Maldonado Sr, John B Maldonado Sr, and Samuel B Maldonado Sr.
He is survived by his son Martin Maldonado and his wife Jackie Maldonado; daughters, Monica and Melanie Maldonado; grandchildren, Isiah Samilpa, Natalie Maldonado, Mariah Maldonado, Laila Alvarado, Reese Alvarado, and Marc Anthony Lara-Govea; aunts, Fannie B Estrada, and Manuela Barron, brothers Joe Maldonado Jr, Andrew Maldonado, Raymond Maldonado, Edward Maldonado; sisters, Sylvia B Maldonado (Salvador), and sister Eva Maria Maldonado.
The Maldonado family would like to give special thanks to Hospice Austin staff especially Paige Sabatino RN. for their great care and compassion.
Visitation will be held from 5:00PM to 7:00PM on Monday, November 7, 2022 at Harrell Funeral Home of Austin, 4435 Frontier Trail. Recitation of the rosary will begin at 7:00PM. Mass will be held 11:00AM on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1206 E. 9th St. in Austin, Texas. Burial will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be, Paul Joseph Maldonado, Noel Sosa, Aldolfo Sosa, Robert Salgado, John Maldonado Jr, Earl Rincon, and Alejandro Duarte. Honorary Pallbearers, Louis Maldonado, Tony Maldonado Jr, Salvador Pineda a Mitchell Huerta.
