Obituary for Martha Louise Blair

Martha Louise Mincemoyer Blair passed from this world, surrounded by her children, on December 20, 2022, in Horseshoe Bay, Texas. She was born February 13, 1942, in Rockford, Illinois, to Catherine and Charles Mincemoyer.

After graduating from Harlem High School, Martha entered the US Air Force and was stationed in Waco, TX, where she met the love of her life, Richard Blair. They were married on November 13, 1961, and spent the following forty-nine years building a life together based on their shared love of God, family, and travel. During Richard's career, they relocated many times over many states but always made their way back to central Texas. Martha attended the University of Houston, earned a degree in Economics, and worked for the State of Texas her entire career. After retiring, she and Richard spent many years traveling in their RV, volunteering as Park Rangers at National Parks, excavating at archaeological sites, cruising the seas, and mostly enjoying their grandchildren. Finally, they settled in Kerrville, Texas, where Martha was very active at Notre Dame Catholic Church. In addition to serving on numerous committees, she volunteered with Hospice after Richard's death in 2009. Martha's love of travel and her adventurous spirit led her to explore several exotic global destinations with Road Scholar, as well as traveling with family and friends.

Martha is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Blair, parents, Catherine and Charles Mincemoyer, and her sister-in-law Druanne Mincemoyer. She is survived by her son Richard Blair and wife Pam of Kerrville, TX, daughters Johanna Schorck and husband Steve of Horseshoe Bay, and Katy Blossman and husband Eric of Spicewood, TX. Grandchildren Blair Polk, Stephanie Rice, Bryan Blair, Nathan Blair, Madison Blossman, Lauren Blossman, and Ella Blossman. Great grandchildren, Hayes Blair, Dylan and Ryan Polk, and Reed Rice. Sister Marguerite Macke and spouse Paul, brothers Carl Mincemoyer and spouse Debra, and Clifford Mincemoyer.

The Memorial service will be on December 23, 2022, at 2 pm at Harrell Funeral Home in Llano, TX, followed by a reception at Lutie Watkins Memorial United Methodist Church.
