Obituary for Maria Guadalupe Cisneros

Our beloved mother, Maria G. (Lupita) Villarreal Cisneros, 77, was called to her heavenly home on January 4, 2023. Maria was born on June 10, 1945 in Brownsville, Texas to Manuel Villarreal and Elvira L. Santillana (Gomez). Although Maria was their only child she did have other siblings. She lived her life as a free spirit in her hometown of Brownsville, Texas. Until the summer of 1985, when she moved her family to the Austin area and eventually made her home in Kyle, Texas.

Maria is survived by her daughter; Diana Cisneros, and grandson Jonathan Gonzales. Daughter; Mary Nguyen (Binh Nguyen); granddaughters, Lindsay Nguyen, Cynthia Nguyen, Ashley Nguyen, Nataly Nguyen, and Audrey Nguyen. Son-in-law; Richard Botello, and grandchildren; Giovanni Botello, Catalina Botello, Rihanna Botello, and Pricious Villa Smith. Nephew; Joe H. Gomez Jr. (Crystal Gomez), and their children Robert Arzola, Daisy Gomez, Joe H. Gomez III, and Samuel Gomez. Niece; Jessica Gomez, and children Dayvonn Celestine, and Damian Harris, as well as numerous family and friends.

Maria is preceded in death by her life partner; Gregorio Ramos Rivera, father; Manuel Villarreal, mother; Elvira S. Gomez, brother; Jose H. Gomez, son; Reynaldo Cisneros, daughter; Lisa Marie Ramos.

Maria had a vocation for service which took her into different career paths where she worked in the education field for both Brownsville and Austin ISD, and in security service as a correctional officer. Her last career change was running her own cleaning service company, and securing a contract with KB Homes new build division for 20 years. Her outgoing personality and charming smile helped her gain and retain many friends in her lifetime. She had many hobbies, and passions like creating art through her paintings. She especially loved to paint majestic palmeras scenes from her beloved hometown of Brownsville and the surrounding area. She also enjoyed great Latino music, dancing, and cooking up her favorite traditional Mexican dishes like tamales, and gorditas for her family and friends. Everyone knew that if you ever found yourself hungry and broke all you had to do was stop by her place for a humble, but great tasting meal. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Our family would like to thank everyone for your outpouring of prayers, and support during this difficult time.
