Obituary for John Franke Williamson

John Franke Williamson, 49, of Austin, TX, passed away on April 20, 2022 in Austin, TX.

John came into this world on September 28, 1972. He was the only son of Johnny & Janice Williamson and little brother to his sisters: Laura and Karen. John graduated from William B Travis High School and studied at St. Edwards University. John worked at Flextronics (IBM/Solectron) as an Engineer/Programmer for over 22 years.

John married his love, Ofelia, on September 21, 2002. Together they enjoyed hill country drives to Fredericksburg and hiking at Enchanted Rock. He also enjoyed cooking and often joined Ofelia in the kitchen; most often making a mess and over spicing the meal. He loved to over spice the meal while Ofelia was not looking. His specialty was making extra spicy sausage balls of which he was so proud of.

John loved the outdoors! He was an avid hunter and especially enjoyed hunting in Alberta Canada. John also loved to fish. Growing up John hunted and fished with his father. John was proud to share his passion for hunting and fishing with his son, Jake.

John is preceded by death by his paternal grandfather: John Cannon Williamson, paternal grandmother: Alice Louise Piper Williamson, maternal grandfather: Alton Joe Franke, maternal grandmother: Evelyn Jewell Barton Franke, father: John Kinney Williamson, sister: Karen Kay Lavender, father-in-law: Manuel Gonzalez, Sr, mother-in-law, Ofelia Gonzalez, brother-in-law, Manuel Gonzalez, Jr.

John is survived by his wife, Ofelia Gonzalez Williamson; son, Jake Williamson; daughter, Errica Gonzales (Tony) stepdaughter, Kayleigh Gonzalez; his mother, Janice Franke Williamson; sister, Laura Williamson Santos (Roman); sisters-in-law: Veronica Gonzalez (Manuel), Rosemary Omar (Baslan); Veronica Martinez (Craig); brothers-in-law: John Gonzalez (Chrisel), Michael Gonzalez (Delisa), Charles Lavender (Karen); grandchildren: Aurora, Kenley, Josiah and Bexleigh; 7 nephews and 8 nieces; and one dedicated dog named Thatcher.

Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am, Friday, April 29, 2022 at Harrell Funeral Home, 4435 Frontier Trail, Austin, TX 78745, with Fr. Ray, of St. Catherine Catholic Church officiating. Burial will follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S I-35 Frontage Rd, Austin, TX 78704. Arrangements are by Harrell Funeral Home.
