John Thomas Boyd of Austin, Texas, passed away on the morning of July 1, 2022, at the age of 82. He was born to John and Flora Boyd on January 23, 1940, in Navasota, Texas.

He is survived by his daughter Sheila Schwartz and her husband Dusty of Buda, Texas, daughter Sharon Boyd of Liberty Hill, Texas, granddaughter Danielle Valdez and her husband Michael of Midland, Texas, grandson Garrett Yero of Houston, Texas and great grandson Crawford Valdez of Midland, Texas.

John is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Mary Boyd. John and Mary fell in love and were married on September 3, 1960, at the First Baptist Church in Adamsville, Texas. They moved to Austin in 1962. He worked as a manager of the printing and art graphics department at Texas Medical Association for 38 years. He retired in 2004 and dedicated his life to his family. He was an avid bass fisherman and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

A graveside service will be held 9:00am, Wednesday, July 6 at Townsen Cemetery in Adamsville, Texas. A church service will follow at 1:00pm at Woodlawn Baptist Church in Austin, Texas
