Heather Leigh Stinnett Oxford, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2022, in her home in Austin, Texas at the age of 49. Heather was born in Houston, Texas on May 15, 1973, to Shirley Marie Segrest and Layne Logan Stinnett. As a child, she was a girly girl. At the age of 4 at Christmas Heather's grandmom, Burns made Heather a long dress, printed in a red and white checked pattern. It also came with an adorable purse made of cotton fabric. She loved performing with her friends for family. Heather graduated from Bellaire High School in Houston, Texas in 1992 and shortly after began her own family. She was married to Chris Oxford for a few years. In this union, she was blessed with two children, Sonni Oxford, and Hannah Oxford. She often spoke about her unyielding love for her children and her hopes to one day be a grandmother. In her later years, Heather struggled with her physical and mental health, but never stopped trying to improve her quality of life. Though these challenges made it difficult, she loved serving others whenever possible. She was most frequently described as loving, kind, and helpful. She also had an amazing memorable laugh. She found great joy in the gospel of Jesus Christ, and the stories and values she found in her scripture studies. Though she sometimes had trouble seeing it in herself, she had a wonderous gift of empathy, a burning desire to learn, and a deep love and compassion for all God's children, especially the little ones. She was often called to teach in the primary. She will be greatly missed by family and friends who knew and loved her.

Heather is survived by her parents, Layne Logan Stinnett and Shirley Marie Segrest, Grandma Letha Mae Burns, her brother Bryan Stinnett, her two children, Sonni Oxford and Hannah Oxford, and other members of her extended family. Friends and family are invited to join in celebrating Heather's life on October 15, 2022. Services will be held at 3:00 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2111 Parker Ln, Austin, TX 78741.
