Emma Jean Copeland, age 79 passed away on Tuesday May 17, 2022, in Buda, Texas. She passed away after a long battle with cancer surrounded by her immediate family.

Born to Jake and Mary Lee Stark on January 27, 1943, Austin, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her parents Jake and Mary Stark, husband Alton Copeland Sr., Sisters: Nannie, Thelma and Brothers: Fred, James, Ernest, Cecil, Mansel, Bill, Alfred.

She is survived by her children: Alton Jr (Pam), Faye Elaine (Robert Thompson), Jake Douglas (Andrea). Sisters: Betty, Neta, Faye, Brothers: Raymond, Floyd, Donnie, her 9 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She is from a family of 16 and was born the first set of triplets in 1943. She attended school in Oak Hill. She retired from Austin ISD after 30 years. She enjoyed spending time with family, travelling, gambling, and scratching lottery tickets. She also, enjoyed watching Western Movies and listening to Old Time Country Music.

She was a devoted mother and grandmother who always put her family first. She taught us by her life example to work hard and to be loyal and honest. To be brave and to strive through life's struggles and never give up.
