Dominga Ortiz Hernandez left us to dance with Our Lord Jesus Christ on March 3, 2023. She was born February 7, 1932 in Medina County and grew up in D'Hanis, Texas. Married John T. Hernandez June 2, 1956, and lived in Austin, Texas most of her life. Dominga and John were devoted to each other, their family, and their church.

Dominga, or "Sunday" as she would say her name was if asked, lived a fulfilled 91 years full of love, kindness, fun, and adventure. For those fortunate to know Dominga (to some Tia Minga), she would light up the room. Minga exuded happiness. Most remember her as Fun! One of her famous sayings at each of her later birthdays was "I'm Sweet 16 and never been Kissed!" Minga was the life of the party, always ready to dance, loved her high heels and could handle walking in them even in her later years, ready to have fun, ready to make you laugh. She was also compassionate. She was there for you if you needed comfort and needed to feel safe. She was also stern in that she made sure her children grew up respectful and to strive to be kind no matter what life threw at them. She was a domestic goddess that filled her house will love that extended out and beyond. Minga never met a stranger cause as soon as she met you, you felt as if you knew her for years! She will be greatly missed but be assured she's happy dancing in heaven.

Dominga is predeceased by her father Amadeo Ortiz Sr., her mother Feliciana Ortiz, her brothers Amadeo Ortiz Jr, Gilberto Ortiz, Leanadro Ortiz, Alejandro Ortiz, Nemisio Ortiz, Ismael Ortiz, Basilio Ortiz, and sisters Oralia Dominguez, Balbina Orosco, Carolina Garcia, and great great grandson Nathaniel Marquez.

She is survived by her brother Ramiro Ortiz, her husband of 67 years John T. Hernandez, her son Albert (Beto) Hernandez, her daughters Mary Elsa Pulido, Rita Marie Fish, and Yvonne (Bonnie) Rocha, her grandchildren Cathy, Nick, Amanda, John, Brittaney, Abrianna, Danielle, Veronica, and Victoria, her 24 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandsons, and her numerous nieces and nephews.
