Obituary for Deborah June Carrington
Deborah June Carrington, age 62, died in Austin, Texas, on Monday, February 14th at 2:02pm after her courageous battle against breast cancer. She was born September 26th, 1959 and raised in Austin. She is survived by daughter Ashley Carrington, mother Marian Crofford, sister Missy Zavala, brother Mark Crofford, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nephew, many nieces, cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews. Deborah is preceded in death by her father Ira Crofford, Jr. and brother Michael Crofford.
Debbie was a lifelong Longhorn who bled burnt orange through and through. Retiring at the end of 2020, following 42 years of devoted service to The University of Texas at Austin, where she made countless memories with her friends and colleagues. Her breakfast tacos, brisket, hot sauce, and desserts will be missed by all, but the positive impacts she made will always reach far past the dining room table.
Visitation will be from 10:00AM to 11:00AM Thursday, February 24, 2022 at Harrell Funeral Home, 4435 Frontier Trail, Austin, TX. Deborah's Funeral Service will be 11:00AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Austin Memorial Park.
