Obituary for David Bruce "DJ" Sullivan Jr

David "DJ" Sullivan Jr. of Llano, Texas passed away March 18, 2023 at the age of 45. Although he was born in Pasadena,Texas, he lived most of his life in Llano and this is where he called home. He loved to hunt and fish and could easily have lived off the land. Other than cell phones and TV, modern conveniences held no interest to him. He could make an arrowhead as good as any Indian and could make the neatest looking knives too. DJ loved to cook. He loved cooking for the fellas at Cooper's and honestly, they loved eating what ever he cooked. Nobody liked a party anymore than DJ did and he most certainly brought life to it no doubt. He lived for that once a year get together of the "Crawfish" folks cooking and bonding for the weekend. Suffice it to say, he was a one of a kind fella. He might have stood short in stature, but he stood tall in many eyes. Llano just won't quite be the same without DJ Sullivan in it.

He was preceded in death by his father David Sullivan, Sr, grandparents James and Nell Hoffmann and Earl and Geraldine Sullivan, Grandfather Billy Ray Hawthorne, and Uncles Eddie Hoffmann and Tom Sullivan.

DJ is survived by his children James, Robert and Sunny Sullivan, Parents Jamie and David Hawthorne, Sisters Shawna Petsch and husband Derrick of Fredericksburg, Dena Hawthorne and fiancée Steve Snoddy of Llano, Dustin Hawthorne and wife Kaitlyn of Llano, David Hawthorne, Jr of Llano, and Dalton Sullivan and wife Vanessa of Houston, nieces Hayley, Courtney, and Kinsey, nephew Damien as well as aunts, uncles, cousins.. And countless friends.

A visitation will be held Monday, March 20, 2023 4:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at Harrell Funeral Chapel.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Llano City Cemetery with Gary Lee Cox officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to the charity of your choice.
