Cutis Eugene Seelig was born December 8, 1933, to Mamie Sommerfeld Seelig and Walter Seelig in Thorndale, Texas at Grandma Seelig's house on the family farm. He attended St. Paul Lutheran school in Thorndale, Texas from grade one through grade eight. He attended Thorndale High School from grade nine through grade twelve.

Curtis served in the U.S. Army from May 1956 through May 1958. He worked for McKown Bridge as a Vice-president from 1958 through 1986. Curtis married Peggy Conn in Round Rock, Texas in 1976 where they resided until 1991. They moved to Lake Buchanan full-time in 1991. They attended Lake Buchanan Community Church where Curtis served as President of the Board and Secretary of the Board. They later joined Genesis Lutheran Church on March 30, 2003. He was also President of Lake Buchanan Water Supply for approximately 15 years working to obtain a water system for the west side of Lake Buchanan. He and Peggy traveled for 20 years. They have spent a lot of time in Fredericksburg the last few years.

Curtis passed away on January 4, 2023.
