Charles "Charlie" Donald Buchanan, Jr.

Charlie passed away Friday, August 12th, 2022, in Tallahassee, Florida.

Visitation will be from 1:00PM to 2:00PM at Harrell Funeral Home 4435 Frontier Trial, Austin, Texas 78745. Service will follow at 2:00PM at Harrell Funeral Home.

Charlie was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Mc Main Vaughn. Survived by his father Charles "Buck" D Buchanan Sr., daughters, Candice Groce (Matt) and Abagayl Aeryn Buchanan (Andrew Larsen), sisters, Dolly Smith (Carl), Darla Brasfield (Mike), and Faelynn Paterson (Glen Allen), grandchildren, Gage, and Peyton Groce, nephews Toby Allen, Colby Ford, Austin Paterson, great-niece Riley Allen, and great-nephew Johnny Ford and many uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Charlie was a native born Austinite born on January 3, 1957. He was a high school graduate, US Navy Sonar Tech, and Iron Worker with Brown & Root Construction before becoming a career Printer Press Operator in Austin and Marble Falls.

He was a talented singer and skilled guitarist, artist, professional motorcycle racer, storyteller, reader/bibliophile, Dallas Cowboy Fan, Barbeque King, trivia master, politician, volunteer, and so much more. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
