Candice "Candy" Stewart Robinson, 74, passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at Silverado Barton Springs Memory Care Community, in Austin, TX, with her daughter, son-in-law, and husband beside her.

Candy was born on April 17, 1948, in Shreveport, LA and raised in Haynesville, LA. After graduating from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA, she married her husband of 53 years, George "Hooty" Robinson. Together they made a beautiful life in Lafayette, LA, where they lived in Oakbourne for 43 years.

Candy loved to travel and was fortunate to see much of this world. Her favorite place was the mountains, where she enjoyed snow skiing and other winter sports. In addition, she loved the theatre, dancing, gardening, running, scuba diving, hiking, and Mardi Gras. Anyone who knew Candy knows she was a fashionista always dressed to the nines. She was a major dog lover with extra special love for Basset Hounds. She was a beautiful woman, inside and out, who cherished her friendships, appreciated a good party, and had a loud and magical laugh. Most importantly, Candy was a wonderful mother and wife who had a special gift for keeping Hooty in line.

Candy is survived by her loving husband, George Hardy Robinson, her only child, Paige Robinson-Vlcek, her husband, James Nicholas Vlcek, and their daughter, Siri Anne Vlcek, all of Austin, TX. She is also survived by her only sister, Pamela Stewart Owens of Dallas, TX. She was proceded in death by her parents, Richard Stewart and Bernadine Watters Stewart.

Candy has battled Alzheimer's Disease for the past decade and is finally free. As she would have wanted, her organs were donated to the Glenn Biggs Institute for Alzheimer's and Neurodegenerative Diseases in San Antonio for research in finding a cure. Memorial donations may be sent in Candy's name to https://makelivesbetter.uthscsa.edu/biggsdonate.

A celebration of Candy's life will take place this fall in Austin, TX. Close family and friends will be notified once a date has been set.

The family would like to thank the caregivers and all the Silverado Barton Springs staff for their love and care since day one. We love you and are eternally grateful.
