Betty Jean Domel, 82, of Austin, Texas, passed away Monday, April 11, 2022.

Betty was born on September 6, 1939, in Rockdale, Texas. She grew up in several farming communities across the Thorndale, Schwertner, Walburg and Bartlett areas. She graduated from Bartlett High School then moved to Austin. There she attended Nixon Clay College while working part time at Scarbrough's Department Store downtown. The college referred her to the Texas Education Agency where she remained until her retirement. She enjoyed and was proud of her 35 ½ years of work with TEA.

Betty married Louis B. Domel on January 22, 1958, in San Marcos, Texas. They were happily married for 64 years! She enjoyed spending time with her loving husband, family, and friends. Betty loved being a sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be remembered for her thoughtfulness, kindness, and loving ways.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Adolph and Minnie Anna Marx Artieschoufsky, sister and brother-in-law, Jeanette and Alvin Randig, Jr., sister, Shirley Artieschoufsky, sisters-in-laws and brothers-in-laws, Marie and Wilfred Fennewald, Martha and Lawrence Jacobson, Frieda and Thomas Bird, Albina and Harold Keszler, and brother-in-law, Joseph J. Domel.

Betty is survived by her loving husband Louis B. Domel, daughter, Jeanne Renee Domel Malone, granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn (Travis) Johnston, grandson, John Malone, Jr., great-grandsons, Robert and Louis Johnston, sister Margie Artieschoufsky, brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Martha Artieschoufsky, brother and sister-in-law, Donny and Susie Artieschoufsky, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
