Obituary for Barry Paryzek

Retired Air Force veteran, Barry John Paryzek, 68, while surrounded by his closest family, passed away on Friday, March 10, 2023, at 3:41p.m, in Kyle, TX. Barry was an equally loving, and proud, father and Grumps (grandfather). He was a loyal son, brother, and friend. His favorite activities included fishing, country-western dancing, and hanging out with family and beloved friends.

Barry was preceded in death by his father and mother, James and Dolores Paryzek. He is survived by his sister, Patricia Gillies, his brother, James "Chip" Paryzek, his son and daughter-in-law, Zach and Barb Paryzek, his grandsons (Jessie, TJ, and Alester Paryzek), and his son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Zola Paryzek.

Barry was born March 15, 1954, in Harvey, IL, into a family of an active military father. Barry's childhood was spent as a "military brat" living all over the globe, and ended up residing near San Antonio, TX. James Paryzek taught his children the pride of being an American, and he instilled in each of them a love of the outdoors and fishing.

Thus, Barry had the deepest love for his country. He was so inspired by his upbringing, he strove to do the same for his sons (and grandsons) by serving 20 years in the Air Force and many years as a Boy Scout leader. He would often comment on how the great outdoors and nature were his religion and the way he liked to worship God.

Barry wore his heart on a sleeve and would always go out of his way to help others when he could. He especially loved supporting and watching his kids and grandsons in all their activities, such as Boy Scouts, orchestra, baseball games, soccer games, choir concerts, and band performances.

Barry's surviving family looks forward to hearing and sharing many of his stories, with everyone who loved him, as we celebrate his life at his memorial service on Friday April 7, 2023. Visitation starts at 2:00pm and Military honors & service starts at 3:00pm.
