Barbara Peck Racz

July 17, 1932 - January 11, 2023

Barbara (Peck) Racz of Horseshoe Bay went to be with the Lord on January 11, 2023 after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Barbara was born in Teaneck, New Jersey on July 17, 1932 to Louis and Philomena (Minnie Colaneri) Peck. She studied education and speech therapy at Newark State Teacher's College, graduating in 1954. On April 18, 1954, she married John Peter Racz.

Barbara was active in community service, volunteering with children at the Cerebral Palsy Center in Baytown, Texas and the Boys and Girls Club of the Highland Lakes in Marble Falls, Texas. She volunteered with the Highland Lakes Family Crisis Center in Marble Falls, Texas. Along with her husband John, she contributed generously to many local nonprofits. She and John were world travelers. Barbara also was an avid fiber artist, creating quilts for each of her grandchildren, and completing many beautiful cross-stitch projects. Many of her creative endeavors are displayed throughout her home and in the homes of her family.

Barbara is survived by her husband, John Racz, her three children, Jeffrey Racz (and Michael Dragoni), Elisabeth Racz Reynolds, and Nancy Racz (and Kevin) Balke, seven grandchildren, John David (and Sarah White) Racz, William Christopher (and Rachel Coolidge) Racz, Sherron Racz (and Christopher) Goodenough, Steven Reynolds, Michelle Reynolds, Phillip Andrew Balke (and Alison Stone), and Daniel Aaron (and Anne McBroom) Balke, and seven great-grandchildren, Emilia Racz, Zoey Racz, Davy Racz, Josie Racz, Gwen Goodenough, Sanai Reynolds and Maclin Whiting.
