Barbara Jean (Ragland) Hudson, 88, was born May 29th, 1934, in Henly, Texas to Lillie Phelps and Henry Ernest Ragland. She passed away peacefully on December 4th, 2022, in her home in Dripping Springs, Texas surrounded by family. She is preceded in death by her husband of fifty-five years, E.A. “Skeeter” Hudson.

She is survived by her children; Nelda Kyle and husband, Terry; her son, Artie Hudson and, wife Bodie; her brother, Derwood Ragland and sister-in-law, Judy Powell; her five grandchildren; Chad Hudson and wife, Natasha, Kara Green and husband, Rick, Wade Hudson and wife, Colie, Kimberly Lloyd and husband, Bryon, Kasey Myers and husband, Kevin; her twenty great-grandchildren; Trey Green and wife, Alexandra, Reagan, Kamryn, and Rhett Green, Annie, Shel, Georgia, Lilah, and Willow Hudson, Lily, Luke, and Hunter Hudson, Jack, Carys, Hazel, David, and Josiah Lloyd, Sutton, Ransom and Saylor Myers. She was also blessed with three great-great-grandchildren Arlin, Annabeth, and Terry Green.

Before moving to Dripping Springs in 1996, she was a long time and well-respected resident of Oak Hill, where she and Skeeter ran successful businesses for many years. Her faith and family were the most important things in her life. She was a member of Oak Hill Primitive Baptist Church and was actively involved in her grandkids and great grandkids lives. She cherished each one of them and the love was reciprocated back. She was the matriarch of the family and the glue that held everything together. We will miss her greatly, but we rejoice knowing that we will all be together again one day.

The family would like to thank Bluebonnet Hospice and their wonderful, caring staff, especially nurse Terin McMillan for her loving care, and Dr. David Pampe for his years of friendship.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, December 9th, 2022 at Harrell Funeral Home at 4435 Frontier Trail, Austin.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, December 10th, 2022, at Forest Oaks Cemetery, 6300 W William Cannon Dr., Austin.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, December 10th, 2022 at Harrell Funeral Home-Austin.
