Anthony Lance Ybarra, 49, a long-time resident of Austin, Texas, passed away unexpectedly, but quietly, on the evening of November 1, 2022, in his home. He was a dedicated husband, father, son, brother, and friend to many. Anthony was born on December 17, 1972, in Austin, Texas, to Henry Ybarra, II and Mary Jane Laughlin.

Anthony became infatuated with big trucks and dedicated himself in training and preparing to become a truck driver. He successfully obtained his CDL at an early age, prior to his 20's. He mastered the ability to drive big trucks and found them just as easy as driving a car. He could maneuver them with ease, in his sleep, as he would say. This was a dream that he fulfilled and succeeded in.

He enjoyed working as a driver for moving companies such as Berger-Allied, United Van Lines, North American and Paul Arpin. After many years as a truck driver and traveling through just about every state, Anthony retired from driving over the road and focused on staying closer to home. He became an independent contract household mover in Austin and the surrounding cities. Up until his passing, he provided years of professional moving skills and experience to local moving companies.

Anthony had a big heart and always provided his help wherever he could. Those he encountered were treated respectfully and with a big smile. He always found a way to bring laughter into a situation and uplifted your spirit in a time of need. He never gave up especially when he set his mind to do something. That was his character he made for himself, never give up.

Anthony, always wanted to find the time to go fishing in Galveston, Texas. Whether on a boat going deep sea fishing, on the bank, on the beach, or on the pier, he would always find a way to make it happen. That was his favorite hobby and he enjoyed it. Whether he caught the big one or a little one, a catch meant he accomplished his fishing desire. Anthony was a member of The Door Christian Fellowship church, a Bible-based, Spirit-filled, Non-denominational Christian ministry, and he could be found dedicating time to the Lord with his fellow members, whether at Sunday's praise and worships or at church events. He made it a point to give thanks to the Lord.

Anthony was preceded in death by his brother, Army SSGT Henry Ybarra III. He is survived by his parents Harlan (aka Pops) Laughlin, Mary Jane Laughlin, his wife, Jodie Ybarra; his children: Anthony II, Elizabeth, Abraham, Brandon, Amber, Alexis, Allison, Liliana, Ariel and Azealea. He is also survived by his brother, Michael, his sister, Yvette. Anthony also leaves behind grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at Harrell Funeral Homes (4435 Frontier Trail, Austin, TX 78745). There will be a visitation held on Thursday, November 24 from 5:00 - 8:00pm followed by a second visitation on Friday, November 25 from 5:00 - 8:00pm followed by a service. The funeral service will be held Saturday, November 26 at 10:00am followed by burial at Assumption Cemetery. Where Anthony will find his final resting place.
